At any time you can convert your lease contract into a purchase contract as all leasing contracts include an option to buy at the list price shown in the contract. All lease payments will be applied to the purchase price of the alpaca.
What a great way to find out if the alpaca business is right for you without a huge cash outlay. Test the waters. When you feel comfortable convert the contract into a purchase. If you decide that it is not for you then return the alpaca when the lease is over.
If you decide you like the options available with leasing, you can diversify your herd by selecting different alpacas each breeding season. If you fall in love with the ones you have you can either continue leasing them or purchase them.
